Day 2 recap
Upon arrival in San Lorenzo, Baldwin continued his tradition and constructed a wooden cross on a hilltop overlooking the Flores homesite. Yes, we then truly completed our second 5 courses by 12:15 today. (Team 1- eat your slow-working hearts out). We then enjoyed a leisurely lunch followed by a soccer rematch. In a tense battle under a blazing-hot, cloudless sky, Honduras defeated Estados Unidos by a final of 4-3. Charlie Barham was offensive MVP for los Americanos while Mark Clary played a stellar goalkeeper under a constant barrage of Honduran shots. Our day culminated with an amazing worship service in Colonias Unidas. "Rolls" Royce was featured on drums, with our frend Nelson on bass and "King" Saul on guitar/lead vocals. It was a powerful service and we now go happily to sleep with the echoes of amplifiers still ringing in our heads.

Great job guys, but please post the timestamp along with your 10 courses photo. We almost had that pace, but Bob insisted we break for lunch at 10:30. He had been up since 4:30 fumbling around for the house key with his clip-on flashlight.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what Team 2 can do when they don't have to spend time on the Team 1 punch list.
ReplyDeleteDid Charlie break out his Ravenscroft Soccer Jersey??
Team 2 - very sorry I could not be there for the first ever win by the Americanos. The ball must not have had any wet spots on it!
